Beyoncé Giselle Knowles-Carter (born September 4, 1981) is an American singer, songwriter and actress. Beyoncé’s name is a tribute to her mother’s maiden name. Daughter of Celestine Ann Beyincé, owner of a hair and beauty salon, and Mathew Knowles, producer and music manager, formerly Xerox sales manager. She has a sister named Solange, and African, Irish and French ancestry. She attended St. Mary’s Elementary School in Fredericksburg, Texas, where she enrolled in dance classes. She studied at the High School for Performing and Visual Arts in Houston, where she showed off her musical talent. She began singing in the choir of St. John’s United Methodist Church. He competed and won a musical program where he performed John Lennon’s song Imagine. Beyoncé’s father, seeing that his daughter wanted to dedicate herself to the world of music, began looking for a music label. Her career began in the late 90’s as the lead singer of Destiny’s Child, along with Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams. Her father became the group’s manager. With the song Killing Time they achieved their first triumph by appearing on the Men in Black soundtrack. Many of the group’s hits, which sold more than 60 million records worldwide, were co-written and co-produced by Beyoncé. He made his film debut with the film Beberly Hood in 1999, and in 2002 began a love affair with rapper Jay-Z, with whom he collaborates on several occasions. In 2003 Beyonce Knowles’ career took a turn when the group split up and released their first solo album called ‘Dangerously in love’. The album premiered on Billboard 200 in the first week arriving directly to first place and selling 317,000 copies in the first week. It was platinum one month later. The album sold more than four million copies in the United States and eleven million copies worldwide. In 2004, at the Grammy Awards ceremony, Beyoncé won five. In 2006 she released her second solo album titled B´Day. This album includes new songs co-written and produced by her. The first single was Deja Vu, in which Jay-Z collaborates. B’Day sold more than six million records worldwide. The album remained on the charts for about two years, becoming one of the best sellers of 2006 and 2007. On November 18, 2008 his third solo album, I Am… Sasha Fierce, who sold more than 42,000 copies in his first week in Japan, was number one in the United States with 482,428 copies sold and ranked number one worldwide with a total of 591,000 albums sold.In January 2010, at the 52nd Grammy Awards ceremony, Beyoncé won six of the ten awards she had been nominated for. Among them are; “Song of the Year”, “Best Female Pop Vocal Performance”, “Best R&B Song”, “Best Female R&B Vocalist”, “Best Contemporary R&B Album by I Am… Sasha Fierce” and “best interpretation of Traditional R&B” with At Last. She became the woman with the most Grammy awards won in one night. She is the woman with the most nominations in the history of the award.

In the cinema Beyonce participated in films such as Austin Powers in Gold Member (2002), Fighting Tentations (2003), The Pink Panther, and Dreamgirls (2006), Cadillac (2008) and Obsessed (2009).Billboard named her in 2009 Artist of the Decade; Female Artist of the 2000s and Millennium Artist in 2011. On April 4, 2008, Beyoncé married rapper Jay-Z in New York. On January 8, 2012, Beyoncé gave birth by cesarean section to her daughter Ivy Blue Carter at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City, where she had an entire plant reserved for which she paid more than $1 million. The rapper, Jay-Z and his wife, wanting to keep the news secret, demanded that all hospital staff do without their phones and cameras during the couple’s stay. In June 2017, Beyoncé gave birth to a boy and a girl.
