Dua Lipa

Dua Lipa was born on 22 August 1995 in London; the British singer-songwriter and model actually has Albanian origins, since her parents are originally from Pristina. In fact, she lives part of her adolescence in Kosovo, between 2008 and 2010. She returns to England at the age of 15, alone, to break into the world of music. Dua Lipa is also a daughter of art since her father is a famous Kosovar rock singer, Dukagijn Lipa. His name, “Dua”, is an Albanian word meaning I love and I want. Before reaching success Dua Lipa, when she was very young, worked as a waitress and also as a hostess at some night-clubs. In a very short time she then achieves success, so much so that she shares the same management ofLana del Rey. Her musical background is influenced by her father, so Dua grows up listening to Tupac, Bowie, Alt J and Bob Dylan. The girl is very active in the struggle for women’s rights; she is testimonial for Patrizia Pepe.Dua Lipa arrives in London alone in 2015 and stands out thanks to her channel You Tube, where she publishes covers of great international singers, such as Nelly Furtado or Christina Anguilera. In the meantime she also began her career as a model. We are still in 2015 when she signed a contract with Warner Bros.Records and released her first single “New Love”, produced by Andrew Wyatt and Emile Haynie. Thanks to this song he enters the BBC chart dedicated to the rising stars of music.But international fame arrived in October 2015 with the release of “Be the one”. The single is produced by Digital Farm Animals and the video is directed by Nicole Nodland. In 2016 the singles “Last Dance” and “Hotter than Hell” are released. In November 2016 he collaborated with the famous Sean Paul for the single “No lie”. He also collaborated with the Italian singer Annalisa, for whom he wrote “Used to”, in 2016. In October 2017 the new single “New Rules” was released, which reached 500 million views on You Tube and became a worldwide success. In 2017 she also won the Best New award at MTV EMA and the TIME included her in the Next Generation Leaders 2017 ranking.
