Janet Jackson 

Janet Jackson was born on May 16, 1966 in Gary, Indiana, United States. She was the youngest son of Joseph Walter Jackson and Katherine Esther Jackson. When she was born, some of her siblings were already recognized in the artistic milieu, which made it easier for her to begin her career at an early age.At the age of seven she appeared for the first time on television, acting in the series The Jacksons. She would later appear in various television series throughout the 1970s and early 1980s, including Good Times, Fame and Diff’rent Strokes.In 1982 she recorded her first album, Janet Jackson, which was not very successful. Two years later Dream Street followed with the same results. It was his brother, Michael Jackson who grabbed all the attention at that time, emerging as the most followed pop singer at that time. However, the landscape changed for her in 1985.This year she released her album Control with the help of Terry Lewis and Jimmy Jam. This work turned out to be a great success, selling four million copies and entering number 5 on the Top Ten Hits list of the 80s. From then on, she became one of the most prominent singers on the scene.She soon became quite noticeable for her controversial performances and music videos, which included scenes that were very sexually provocative. However, they also had many innovative aspects for the time and sought to awaken enormous social consciousness in people. Their shows were in high demand for the time.By 1991, she had already signed a contract with the Virgin Records label, for an amount that made her the best paid singer of the year.Today, she continues to be one of the most controversial and famous musical figures in the business.
